The programme
AMELS is one of the longest-running luxury yacht programmes in the world. Hulls in the 60–80m class are built and outfitted to a standard that sits between superyacht customisation and serial-build discipline. DAMEN, the Dutch shipbuilder behind the brand, operates the Gdynia yard as a strategic hull-construction site, and RS Marine has been a continuous hull-construction partner there since 2018.
What we deliver
Hull and superstructure construction for hulls 6001 through 6011. Steel-grade welding to IACS-affiliated certification, material traceability from incoming inspection through final assembly, and weld documentation packages that survive class-society sign-off in one survey visit rather than three.
Why it matters
A serial luxury-yacht programme is a stress test of welding discipline. Surface tolerances after fairing and painting are unforgiving, a weld defect that goes undetected at hull stage becomes an expensive repair months later when the vessel is already in outfitting. The schedule discipline DAMEN operates with rewards builders who can deliver consistent quality across a multi-year cadence. That is what the AMELS engagement has been for us.
Operational footprint
Work runs from our Gdynia facility and on-site at the DAMEN yard. Welder rotation, material handling and QA coordination are integrated with the yard's own production planning rather than operating as a separate sub-contractor track.
